All UK residents will need to purchase a tourist Visa in order to enter the country.
You will need to purchase your Visa's online, PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL IN TURKEY. Please click on the link below to be directed to the official E-Visa website and follow the instructions.
The Visa's cost $20 each and all UK visitors to Turkey need to have one, including babies and children.
Your Visa will be valid for 90 days from the date of issue. At present you are able to make return visits to Turkey without purchasing another Visa if your return visit is within the 90 day period, however, you are not permitted to stay in Turkey for longer than 90 days in any one 180 day period.
Your passport will be stamped with the date of entry on arrival in Turkey and you will need to have a blank page available in your passport for this. Your passport will also be stamped with the date of exit when you leave the country.
Up until 31st December 2014, your passport should be valid for at least six months on entry into Turkey and have at least three months validity from the date you plan to exit Turkey. From 1st January 2015, this ruling will be amended so that your passport must be valid for a minimum of 60 days beyond the expiry of date of your Visa.
Residents from other countries will need to check their individual Visa requirements.
Health care in Turkey is not covered under the E111 as in the European Union and private health cover is necessary. However the standard of private care in the area is excellent and generally significantly cheaper than European private hospitals.
It is therefore vital that you have adequate insurance cover in place before travelling.
